This latest discovery gives strength to rumors of iPad 3 being launched with a bit of a thicker design and a much higher resolution in display.
The iOS 5.1, in its device list mentions ‘iPad3,3’ along with other references in the software asking for deviceID, vendorID, along with other details.
As per the blog 9to5mac, there are also references about a probable updated version of the present iPad 2, which would come with WiMax or LTE technology.
It has been reported that Apple has been working on two separate prototypes for iPad 3 with a possible analysis of a small 7.85” version.
Richard Shim, an analyst, has quoted that Sharp, LGD and Samsung are all researching for high-resolution screens just like the Retina display and were looking at QXCA for a resolution 2048×1536.
Necessity of three suppliers was to ensure adequate manufacturing volumes. The 2048×1536 screen is being tipped to be centerpiece of the iPad 3 by experts, thereby giving a huge jump in display from the current iPad 2 that has 1024×768 display screens.
The manufacturers have been told to work out their schedules in such a manner that the product can be released in March. Apple is also going to examine prospects of a smaller version, given the fact that its rival Amazon’s Kindle Fire is expected to come in 7” screen
